About this Site
The Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney website has been designed to be accessible to as many different browsing devices as possible, including screenreaders and mobile browsers.
Please contact us if you have any trouble accessing the site's content.
Coding standards
The site complies with XHTML and CSS coding standards recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium.
CSS is used to format the content of the site for display on computer monitors, and to ensure that background images and colours intended only for screen display do not appear when pages are printed. This site's CSS code is compatible with the following browsers:
- Internet Explorer for Windows (versions 6.0 and above)
- Firefox (all versions)
- Opera (versions 7.0 and above)
- Mozilla (all versions)
- Netscape Navigator (versions 7.0 and above)
- Safari (all versions)
- Camino (all versions)
The site's content is accessible to all browsing devices capable of rendering a basic XHTML tagset.
Printing pages
A print stylesheet is currently in development.
Upgrading your browser
If you are using an older browser, including Internet Explorer 6.0, we recommend you take a couple of minutes to upgrade it: Internet Explorer 6.0 is now nearly a decade old, does not support recent web technologies, and is susceptible to internet viruses. The Browse Happy site will show you how.
